Children love it: the joy of making and eating their own food!
The Egonoki Club, which Sustaina Health supports, held a harvest event.
The first harvest of the year was potatoes.
The seed potatoes that the children planted with their fathers and mothers in March grew quickly and were ready for harvest.
They seemed to be looking forward to it very much and were full of energy from the morning.
They were sweating profusely in the hot and humid weather as they harvested. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the lunch box afterwards, which also seemed to be a bit of a picnic.
Dinner that night was curry, potato butter, potato salad, etc., and each family seemed to enjoy it to their heart's content.
One of the guests reported, “The children who usually don't eat much ate a lot of food! One of the happy reports we received was, “He ate a lot of vegetables that he usually doesn't eat much!
For many parents and children, it was the first time to eat vegetables they grew themselves, and I am sure it was a pleasant memory for them.
